Gordian Energy Systems is seeking a Commercial Solar Business Developer in the Mid-Atlantic region. The candidate will be responsible for originating, managing and closing new projects, and facilitating ongoing relationships with facility managers and building owners. In addition, the position will include identifying, qualifying, solar projects with commercial, industrial and non-profits facilities. The position will require exceptional written and verbal skills to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences. There will be significant client interaction and a high degree of professionalism required.
Responsibilities Include:
- Onboard new facility manager and building owner relationships and manage opportunity pipeline.
- Expand the opportunities with commercial real estate owners through prospecting, networking and outreach.
- Following a proven business development process and leveraging company tools including a robust CRM and weekly planning and review meetings
- Facilitating solar energy and facility needs assessments and analysis.
- Collaborate with team leadership to qualify and prioritize target accounts and opportunities.
- Coordinate with proposal and estimating teams to prioritize and manage timely responses.
- Interface with customer leadership including C-suite and navigate account to expand opportunities.
- Maintaining ongoing knowledge of local and regional competition, understand market pricing, utility rates, grant, and incentive programs as well as current mix of products and services.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven track record of business development achievement.
- Understanding of commercial solar development industry.
- 3 years of commercial or project developer experience.
- Experience with presenting financial models to prospective clients.
- Proficiency with CRM software & sales tools.
- Experience in creating and implementing a weekly sales plan.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate, manage, and prioritize multiple opportunities and tasks.
- Bachelor’s degree or greater.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
