Job Summary
The Asset Protection Associate plays a crucial role in safeguarding company assets and ensuring a secure environment for both employees and customers. This position involves monitoring activities within the premises, conducting investigations, and implementing loss prevention strategies to mitigate theft and fraud. The ideal candidate will possess strong observational skills, a background in law enforcement or security, and the ability to manage conflicts effectively.
Duties
- Monitor surveillance systems, including CCTV, to detect suspicious activities and potential theft.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure safety and security.
- Investigate incidents of theft or fraud, gathering evidence and preparing detailed reports.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary to resolve criminal investigations.
- Implement loss prevention strategies and educate staff on security protocols.
- Manage conflicts with customers or employees in a professional manner to de-escalate situations.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, investigations, and actions taken.
- Assist in training new staff on asset protection policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience in law enforcement, security, or loss prevention is preferred.
- Familiarity with surveillance equipment and techniques, including CCTV operation.
- Strong report writing skills to document incidents clearly and accurately.
- Knowledge of criminal investigation processes and conflict management techniques.
- Excellent observational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with diverse individuals.
