We are seeking a Senior Architectural Drafter (Windows & Doors) to lead shop drawing design and client coordination for custom high-performance window and door systems in a remote, client-facing role.

Job Summary:
You will be involved in every aspect of the product design life cycle; from the front end of communicating with architects to translate their choices into Henselstone product solutions through product end of life. The individual in this role is expected to bring mechanical engineering knowledge and a desire to learn about new products and help brainstorm solutions that meet or exceed our customer’s expectations for design, functionality and longevity. The individual in this role is expected to work in a very collaborative cross-departmental position.
Our work involves highly customized, European window and door systems, including large-format lift-and-slide units, complex façade integrations, and high-performance applications such as hurricane-rated assemblies and energy-efficient building envelopes. The role centers on developing and detailing highly customized solutions, translating architectural intent into practical, buildable designs that account for site-specific conditions and constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Translating architectural drawings into Henselstone window and door orders
- Engineering design solutions for architects and builders
- Specifically drafting and sketching of façade, window, and door details, hardware, unit to wall integration details, and writing of technical documentation for a variety of material technologies
- Analyze simulation of designed products (e.g., loadings, thermal analysis, condensation risk, energy loss/gain, etc.) with specialized software.
- Meeting and communicating with architects
- Understanding our products and window and door designs and products in general
- Engineering new window and door designs and product development
- Be the subject matter expert for relevant building codes, energy codes, industry standards, façade, window, and door testing standards and mockups.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Construction Management, or a related field (focused on construction/building systems) or equivalent degree
- Experienced with 2D and 3D CAD modelling package AutoCAD
- Demonstrated ability to design experimentation, analyze results and draw conclusions
- Strong people skills, able to work in a highly collaborative team environment
