Material Handler / Heavy Equipment Operator

Mid-Carolina Steel & Recycling is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Material

Handler / Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing team in Columbia, South

Carolina.

Job Responsibilities

 Load and unload customer and supplier trucks safely and efficiently

 Sort and process recyclable metals by commodity type

 Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, material handlers, skid steers,

loaders, and forklifts

 Maintain a clean and organized work area

 Inspect materials and assist with inventory management

 Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Qualifications

 Previous heavy equipment operating experience is required

 Experience in metal recycling, scrap, construction, or industrial industries

preferred

 Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

 Ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform physically demanding work

 Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety

 Valid driver's license preferred

Compensation & Benefits

 $22.00 – $27.00 per hour, based on experience
