Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic - II to join our manufacturing facility team. This role is essential in ensuring the continuous operation and optimal performance of our production equipment and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess extensive industrial mechanic experience, strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with a variety of maintenance tools and systems. The Maintenance Mechanic - II will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of equipment reliability, safety compliance, and operational efficiency.
Perform a variety of basic multi-craft tasks in general maintenance and repairs of equipment and buildings, including the installation, repair, and replacement of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. Perform building-related basic construction and fabrication work.
- This position will interact regularly with the area maintenance staff and contractors.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot complex machinery issues using schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills.
- Operate and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to ensure automation systems function correctly.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule future tasks.
- Conduct repairs involving welding (including <LOCATION> welding), HVAC/R systems, scissor lifts, and high-voltage electrical components.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools for accurate assessments.
- Assist in field service operations by diagnosing problems on-site and providing effective solutions.
- Follow safety protocols related to low voltage, high voltage, and industrial electrician practices.
- Interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams to facilitate repairs and installations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing equipment performance data and recommending enhancements.
Experience
- Extensive industrial mechanic experience within manufacturing facilities or similar environments.
- Proven expertise in mechanical maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, and industrial automation systems.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics interpretation, and CMMS platforms.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, welding techniques (including <LOCATION> welding), and high-voltage electrical safety standards.
- Familiarity with industrial electrician practices including low voltage systems.
- Field service experience working directly at manufacturing sites or customer locations.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse teams.
- Analysis skills for diagnosing complex machinery issues efficiently.
- Background in military or related technical training is advantageous but not mandatory.
