JOB Skate guards are responsible for the overall safety and monitoring of ice programs, which include public and adult sessions, learn to skate lessons, hockey games, and special events. Must be able to respond calmly and effectively when handling medical emergencies. Must be friendly, courteous, mature, and enthusiastic when meeting the public. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Monitor activities during all public sessions

Initial handling of on-ice injuries

Distribute rental skates and handling return of skates

Report patron disciplinary problems and complaints promptly to supervisor

Assist with hockey games, figure skating competitions, speedskating meets, and private and group rentals

Inventory levels of supplies and reset towel machines

Maintains regular attendance and punctuality

Comply with required dress code, wearing required uniform and conduct expectations

Keep work area clean and presentable

Attend staff meetings as scheduled

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
