American Traveler is hiring a Medical Surgical RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
-
Patient population includes MS/Tele and respiratory cases
-
Patient ratio of 1:6
-
Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
-
Epic charting system required
-
Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration

Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred

Prior travel nursing experience required

Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills
-
Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
-
Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration)
-
Non-invasive airway management skills
-
IV therapy and phlebotomy skills
-
Peripheral line care and management experience
-
Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
-
Provide medical surgical nursing care including cardiac monitoring and respiratory support

Manage medication administration and cardiac drips
-
Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
-
Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols as needed
-
Must reside outside of the following Texas counties to be eligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris

Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted

Former permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler

No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved, and no time off is permitted during the first week of orientation
