Job Summary
About the Position
Dioguardi Auto Sales is seeking an experienced, solo automotive technician to join our team. This is a standalone position — you will be the only mechanic on site, working independently with full ownership of the shop's diagnostic and repair work. We're looking for someone who takes pride in strong problem-solving skills and can confidently handle a wide variety of makes and models without a second technician to lean on.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain vehicles in dealership inventory to ensure they are safe, reliable, and sale-ready
- Diagnose and repair customer vehicles brought in for service
- Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, brakes, tires, fluids, etc.) as well as more complex diagnostic and repair work
- Accurately identify root causes of mechanical, electrical, and drivetrain issues
- Keep the shop organized and maintain equipment in good working order
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to management
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as an automotive technician/mechanic
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills — must be comfortable working independently without another technician on site
- New York State Vehicle Inspector License preferred
- ASE certifications a plus but not required
- Must have own tools
- Valid driver's license
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
Shop Details
- 3 bays, 2 lifts
- Hourly pay structure — this is not a flat-rate shop
- Consistent 40-hour work week, no weekend hours required

Pay: $25.00 - $35.28 per hour
