We are looking for Medical Assistants to join our clinical team! This is a fast-paced, challenging position that requires excellent communication and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks throughout the day. Our team is supportive of one another and we celebrate everyday successes.
SUMMARY:
Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician. Interview and record patients' medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height. Administer medications as directed by a physician. May assist with administrative duties including scheduling appointments, school/work notes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Greet patient, obtain, and document vital signs
· Obtain and document family history, medications, and reason for visit
· Perform hearing and vision screens
· Assist physician with procedures as needed
· Obtain consent from patients for necessary procedures
· Perform any procedures ordered by physician (ear wash, nebulizer treatments, etc.)
· Check immunization history before administering any vaccines
· Prepare and administer ordered vaccines
· Set up for IV, spinal taps, or other minor surgeries
· Collect samples for various lab test if needed (strep, flu, and urine)
· Applying any wraps, slings, or bandages as ordered per physician
· Patient education (instruct patients how to use nebulizer machines and or inhalers)
· Enter all data collected and duties performed into patient chart
· Clean and stock room
· Maintain sample medication closet
· Print daily schedule to double check vaccine usage
· Fax paperwork as necessary
· Obtain records as needed
· Keep copies of patient information current and available
· Maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA Guidelines.
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
