Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Front of House Team encompasses multiple positions including Usher and House Manager. These positions operate on a flexibly scheduled basis for events hosted at Belmont University in the Curb Event Center arena, Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, and other event spaces across campus.
The House Manager positions serves as the student leader/supervisor of the Front of House Usher team during events, providing direction, support, and oversight to ensure exceptional guest service. Working alongside the Manager on Duty, the House Manager assists with event operations, communicating with ushers, and addressing guest concerns as they arise. This role helps ensure front-of-house operations run smoothly by enforcing venue policies, maintaining a welcoming environment, and supporting the successful execution of each event.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrated reliability with strong attendance and punctuality.
Working knowledge of Belmont event operations, guest service expectations, and venue procedures.
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests, clients, and staff.
Proven ability to work independently while leading and supporting a team of student employees.
Experience handling customer service concerns in a professional and solution-oriented manner.
Ability to follow and enforce university policies and safety procedures.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other event-based schedules.
Required Education
Must be enrolled as a student at Belmont University. Specify if the student must be a particular major or particular year in school. No specific major.
Required Experience
Minimum of one (1) semester of experience as an Event Services - Front of House Usher.
