Responsibilities
- Perform professional pet nail trimming and pet coat styling with precision and care, ensuring comfort and safety for each animal
- Handle dogs and other companion animals confidently, utilizing animal restraint techniques to keep pets calm during grooming sessions
- Provide gentle animal handling and restraint to facilitate grooming, veterinary procedures, or assessments
- Communicate clearly with pet owners about grooming procedures, pet health, and aftercare instructions to foster trust and satisfaction
- Assist with basic veterinary tasks such as animal care, veterinary technician support, or light medical procedures as needed
- Manage heavy lifting of supplies or animals when necessary, maintaining safety protocols at all times
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment on-site or in clients’ homes, adhering to hygiene standards and safety guidelines
Qualifications
- Experience in dog training, pet grooming, or animal handling is highly preferred; veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures, animal restraint techniques, and pet coat styling methods
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners and team members effectively
- Ability to handle dogs confidently during grooming sessions while ensuring their safety and comfort
- Familiarity with heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with pet care equipment or animals
- Compassionate attitude towards animals with a genuine desire to improve their well-being
- Valid certification as a groomer or vet assistant is advantageous; additional experience in equine or other animal handling is a bonus
