Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and handling, with the ability to assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to our patients. This role requires a blend of technical skills, knowledge of veterinary practices, and a passion for animal welfare.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze results
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Provide support in dental procedures using veterinary terminology
- Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments
- Monitor animal vital signs and report any changes to the veterinarian
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and health maintenance
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including adherence to aseptic techniques
- Participate in kennel duties, including feeding, grooming, and exercising animals
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role within the veterinary field
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care procedures and laboratory techniques
- Experience with dog handling, training, grooming, and catheterization is highly desirable
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively
- A commitment to providing compassionate care for all animals under your supervision
