We’re looking for a motivated Business Development Manager to help drive our next phase of growth by identifying opportunities, building relationships, and securing new client partnerships.
Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and growing agency revenue through strategic prospecting, networking, relationship building, and consultative selling.
This role is ideal for someone who understands digital marketing and advertising, enjoys meeting new people, and thrives on helping businesses solve challenges through marketing solutions.
The successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients and work closely with agency leadership to develop proposals, present recommendations, and close new business opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, prospect, and develop relationships with qualified business opportunities
- Build and manage a consistent sales pipeline through networking, referrals, outreach, and strategic partnerships
- Conduct discovery meetings to understand client goals, challenges, and marketing needs
- Present BConnected’s services and capabilities to prospective clients
- Collaborate with internal team members to develop proposals and recommended solutions
- Manage opportunities through the sales process from initial contact through contract execution
- Attend networking events, trade shows, and industry functions throughout Wisconsin and surrounding markets
- Maintain accurate records and pipeline activity within CRM systems
- Develop referral relationships with business leaders, chambers, associations, and complementary service providers
- Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
- Provide market intelligence and client feedback to agency leadership
Qualifications:
Required
- 3+ years of business development, sales, account management, or related experience
- Experience selling professional services, marketing services, advertising solutions, technology services, or similar consultative offerings
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to generate leads and close new business
- Ability to build trust and establish long-term client relationships
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the region
Preferred
- Experience working within a marketing agency, advertising agency, media company, SaaS company, or related digital services environment
- Understanding of digital marketing, social media marketing, paid advertising, SEO, web development, and content marketing
- Existing professional network within Wisconsin business communities
- Experience using CRM and sales automation tools
Compensation & Benefits:
Compensation
- Base Salary: $55,000 to $70,000
- Commission Opportunity: $20,000 to $40,000+ annually
- Expected On-Target Earnings (OTE): $75,000 to $100,000+
