Overview
Join our dedicated healthcare team as a CNA in Des Plaines! This rewarding role offers the opportunity to provide compassionate, high-quality care to adults in various healthcare settings. As a CNA, you will play an important role in supporting patient comfort, safety, and well-being while working alongside a team of skilled healthcare professionals. Responsibilities
- Assist with daily patient care activities including bathing, feeding, dressing, and mobility support
- Monitor vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, accurately documenting findings in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to implement individualized care plans for patients with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities needs
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families, fostering a compassionate and respectful environment
- Assist with patient transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ensure proper positioning to prevent injury or discomfort
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols to safeguard patient confidentiality and promote a safe clinical environment
Requirements
- Valid CNA certification; experience preferred. Candidates with long-term care, assisted living, nursing home, hospital, clinic, or home care backgrounds are encouraged to apply
- Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting with Hoyer lifts and assisting with mobility needs
- Compassionate demeanor with excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and their families
