As the Corporate Accountant at
Eenhoorn, located in downtown Grand Rapids, MI, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial integrity of our U.S. and Netherlands portfolios. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you’ll collaborate with our Accounting team to ensure our financial accounting and reporting, accounting policies, systems and processes, compliance requirements, ongoing financial modeling and annual budget plans are accurate, timely, and complete.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with accounting and finance functions for the residential, commercial and Netherlands portfolio (55+ entities)

Assist with the month end process, including preparation and review of financial reports.

Perform financial analysis to spot trends and identify items needing adjustment.

Review and manage A/R and A/P discrepancies.

Ensure that all accruals are appropriate and accurately recorded (tax, insurance, etc.)

Ensure that assigned monthly reconciliations (bank, balance sheet recs, security deposits, etc.) are completed timely and accurately.

Assist with compliance requirements related to properties with low income and other regulatory rental restrictions.

Review compliance with qualification requirements for new residents and subsequent annual recertifications.

Ensure charges to residents for rent and utilities are within guidelines prescribed by the various housing agencies.

Assist property staff with requirements and provide reporting and audit support as needed.

Manage registered agent process including oversight of required annual filings.

Manage HAP process including collecting deposit slips, entering payment details in system, tracking HAP delinquency, and ensuring accuracy.

Ensure accuracy of construction management software related to development activities and provide relevant reporting for management and Board review.

Work with Development director to fully utilize the construction module in tracking and reporting historical and forecasted costs in support of the above.

Assist with the oversight and preparation of the annual budgeting process.

Other duties and projects as assigned.
Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university
-
Minimum of two years’ experience in accounting/finance or tax management.

CPA preferred
-
Experience with Yardi real estate software is a plus
