Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative CAD Designer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings, and schematics that support the design, development, and construction of mechanical systems and products. Your expertise will help translate conceptual ideas into precise technical documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex system designs, enhance project workflows, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to bring innovative concepts to life.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive 2D CAD drawings and 3D models for mechanical systems, components, and assemblies using advanced CAD software tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, Revit, MicroStation, and Autodesk Inventor.
- Incorporate GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles into designs to ensure manufacturing precision and quality control.
- Prepare clear CAD documentation including technical drawings, assembly instructions, and system design reports for use in manufacturing or construction.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to refine designs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Maintain organized CAD files within PDM (Product Data Management) software systems for version control and easy retrieval throughout project lifecycles.
Experience
- Proven experience in mechanical drafting and 2D CAD drafting within engineering or construction environments.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, or Pro/ENGINEER.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical design principles including system design, P&IDs, and assembly modeling.
- Familiarity with GD&T standards, ASME codes & standards, FEA (Finite Element Analysis), and 3D CAD modeling for product development or structural analysis.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately while adhering to industry best practices in drafting and documentation.
- Prior construction or manufacturing experience is a plus; strong technical writing skills are also beneficial for creating detailed reports and documentation.
