Wiring Assembler - measure, cut, terminate, route, and tie wires to form wire harnesses, then attach them to components, plugs, or connectors using soldering or crimping. Also conduct continuity and functional tests, inspect for defects, and perform repairs as required.
Shift/Pay
· Monday – Friday 6:00 am – 4:30 pm
· Saturday – 6:00 am – 11:00 am
· Overtime is required – average 50-55 hours a week
· $22 / hour depending on experience
Required skills
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading technical drawings and understanding color codes
- Technical skills: Strong understanding of assembly processes, familiarity with hand and power tools, and knowledge of relevant safety and quality standards
- Manual Dexterity: Possess good hand-eye coordination for precise work with small components and hand tools
- Attention to Detail: A high degree of precision is needed for accurate wiring and assembly
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a production team
- Experience: One or more years’ experience in a wiring production or assembly environment
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assembly: Route, cut, wrap, and tie wires according to specifications
- Installation: Install wires and or assembled harnesses, components, and sub-assemblies into electronic devices or equipment
- Testing: Perform continuity and functional tests to ensure the wiring assemblies meet specifications
- Soldering & Crimping: Attach wires to terminals, connectors, and components using a soldering iron or crimping device
- Inspection & Quality Control: Visually inspect wiring and assemblies for correct components, proper connections, and to detect defects
- Maintenance: Clean and perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
- Documentation: Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, specifications, and work orders
- Repair: Troubleshoot and repair damaged harnesses and electrical assemblies
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to work in a manufacturing setting, often while standing, using standard wiring equipment, and adhering to PPE requirements.
- Must be able to lift/move 30 lb. repetitively for a 10-hour shift
- Must be able to stand for 10-hour shift
Pay: $22.00 per hour
