We are opening a brand-new luxury resort with a dog-first concept on 30 lakefront acres in Goodrich, Texas, and we need someone who can swing a hammer today and run the property.
This is not a work-order job. Right now we are in build mode: fencing, decks, pads, remodels, and getting a raw piece of land ready to host guests. When we open, this same person keeps the place running and eventually leads a small maintenance team. You will see this property go from dirt to finished, and your fingerprints will be on all of it.
We are Texas Outdoor Hospitality Group. We also operate Cameron Ranch Glamping, one of the most-booked glamping properties in Texas. This role supports both, with the majority of time at the new Goodrich property.
What you will be doing
Build and remodel phase (now through opening):
- Fence installation and repair, including gates and hardware
- Simple deck builds, framing, stairs, and railings
- Interior remodel work: trim, drywall patch, doors, hardware, flooring
- Painting, interior and exterior
- Basic plumbing: supply lines, drains, fixtures, water heaters
- Basic electrical: outlets, switches, fixtures, low-voltage runs
- Coordinating with outside contractors and keeping their work on schedule
Ongoing operations (after opening):
- Preventive maintenance across guest units and common areas
- HVAC troubleshooting, filter changes, minor repairs, knowing when to call the pro
- Small engine work: mowers, trimmers, utility vehicles, pressure washers
- Pool and water feature upkeep
- Same-day response on guest-impacting issues
- Building and running the maintenance schedule, then training and leading the techs we add as we grow
What we are looking for
- Real construction or remodeling experience. You have built things, not just fixed them.
- Comfortable across trades: fencing, framing, plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC basics, small engine
- Someone who leads by doing. This is a working manager role, not a clipboard job.
- Reliable, self-directed, and able to prioritize without being managed
- Own basic hand tools and reliable transportation
- Able to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in Texas heat, and handle a physical day
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Comfortable around dogs. This is a dog-first resort and there will be dogs everywhere, every day.
Nice to have
- Hotel, resort, or RV park maintenance background
- Previous on-call maintenance experience
- HVAC or electrical certification
- Pool operator certification
- Experience supervising a crew, even a small one
Schedule
Five days per week, 12:00pm to 8:00pm. Either Tuesday through Saturday or Wednesday through Sunday, depending on what works for you and the team. Weekends are part of this role. Overtime is available, and there is an after-hours on-call rotation once the resort opens.
Pay and benefits
- $25.00 per hour to start
- Increase to $27.00 per hour at 6 months, plus performance bonuses
- $400 per month health insurance stipend after 6 months
- Paid time off
- Overtime available
- Real growth path. We are opening more properties, and the person who builds this one is first in line to run maintenance across the portfolio.
On-site housing option
We may have a tiny home available on the property for the right person. If you take it, you live on site with no rent and no utility bills, and the hourly rate adjusts to reflect that. For most people this comes out ahead of the standard rate once you account for what you are not paying every month, and no commute.
This is optional. You can take the role at the standard rate and live wherever you want. If housing interests you, say so when you apply and we will talk through the details.
How to apply
Apply through Indeed with your resume and a short list of what you have built and repaired.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Dental insurance
- Health insurance
- Paid time off
- Vision insurance
