Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble components according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients with precision using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, fryers, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to meet food safety management standards
- Follow strict food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene throughout all stages of meal preparation
- Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients needed for daily service and special menus
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal production while adhering to recipe adherence and safety standards in production
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Food service or restaurant experience demonstrating familiarity with kitchen operations and food industry standards
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and ability to follow safety standards in production
- Strong communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen staff and team members
- Proficiency in basic culinary techniques including knife skills and slicing methods
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with meal preparation, recipe adherence, and operating various kitchen equipment is preferred
