Overview
We are seeking a skilled Lowboy Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy lowboy trucks to transport oversized and heavy loads safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial truck driving, adherence to DOT regulations, and experience with heavy load handling. The Lowboy Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery of equipment and materials while maintaining safety standards on the road.
Duties
This is a Local position
- Operate heavy lowboy trucks equipped for transporting oversized loads, ensuring safe and secure delivery.
- Drive commercial trucks in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and company policies.
- Handle truck loading and unloading operations, including securing loads properly for transit.
- Navigate routes efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and traffic laws.
- Maintain the truck’s cleanliness, perform routine inspections, and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo as needed, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety procedures are followed.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, loads, and inspections in accordance with company policies.
- Follow all safety guidelines related to heavy equipment operation and transportation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy lowboy trucks, with a focus on transporting oversized loads.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for heavy and specialized vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations governing commercial trucking operations.
- Experience driving manual transmission trucks is required.
- Ability to perform truck loading and unloading tasks safely and efficiently.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Physical ability to handle loading/unloading tasks and perform routine vehicle inspections.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
