We are currently seeking an Agency Distribution Manager for Western/Central PA. This is a full-time position, which includes a company car, an attractive benefits package and participation in our annual bonus program. The successful candidate will live and work in the territory with the occasional need to report to our home office in Philadelphia, PA for meetings.
Responsibilities

Manage agency relationships in the region to ensure profitable results of both new and renewal business.
- Build and maintain a Territory Plan that holds assigned agents responsible for building quality books of business with TPC.
- Achieve objectives for assigned territory based on annual business plan.
- Conduct regular agency visits to review profitability plans, educate agents on company guidelines and build and reinforce “partnership relationships” with assigned agencies and their staff.
- Maintain an awareness of competitive practices related to products, rates, and industry trends in the territory,
- Train agents on company products, underwriting guidelines and our rating and production system – called “The Key.”
- Prospect, appoint and train new agencies.
- Develop agency plans with key agencies, execute and monitor those plans to ensure successful results.
- Use strategic approach and segmentation to select the proper agencies to spend time with and provide guidance to agencies with a solutions-oriented, consultative sales approach.
- Analyze and think through agency issues, identify alternative responses/options, and bring about an effective solution. Demonstrate good judgment about which creative ideas and suggestions will work.
- Effectively evaluate agency performance on profit and growth and hold agencies accountable for action plans and results.
- Communicate and deliver on TPC’s value proposition for both policyholders and agents.
- Collaborate with various internal partners including Underwriting, Product, and Customer Service teams as needed to be effective.
- Gather and share competitive intelligence, market changes, and competitive position.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with industry trade associations and state association members.
Hiring Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree, insurance designation (AU, CPCU) or equivalent work experience
- Thorough working knowledge of personal lines insurance, including firsthand experience with independent agents and other personal lines carriers in the territory.
- Proven ability to think strategically, influence people, and drive action.
- Should be highly flexible, autonomous, and able to adapt well to change.
- Highly organized and able to work independently with little direct supervision.
- Strong analytic skills and proven ability to use these skills to establish, monitor and achieve successful results from assigned agencies.
- Excellent presentation and critical thinking skills
- Computer literate, including the ability to train agents on company software.
- Required to live in or in proximity to assigned territory.
- Current driver’s license and clean driving record
- Willing to travel to agency locations; some overnight travel may be required.
