Job Summary
Northside Millwork is seeking an experienced CNC Operator to join our production team. This position is responsible for operating CNC woodworking equipment used to manufacture custom commercial architectural millwork, countertops, casework, panels, and related components.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience operating with an Onsrud, Stiles Weeke and/or HOMAG CNC machines. and understands the precision, quality, and attention to detail required in a custom millwork environment.
Seeking an experienced CNC operator with approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machinery used in the production of architectural millwork and cabinetry.
- Review shop drawings, production drawings, cut lists, CNC programs, and work orders prior to machining.
- Load programs and verify correct tooling, materials, dimensions, and machine settings before beginning production.
- Load, position, and secure sheet goods and other materials for machining.
- Machine plywood, MDF, particleboard, laminate products, hardwood, solid-surface materials, and other materials commonly used in architectural millwork.
- Monitor CNC operations to ensure parts are produced accurately and efficiently.
- Verify finished parts against drawings and specifications using appropriate measuring equipment.
- Identify machining, tooling, programming, or material issues before they result in defective parts or wasted material.
- Make machine adjustments as necessary to maintain accuracy and production quality.
- Change router bits, tooling, collets, and other machine components as required.
- Inspect tooling for wear or damage and replace tooling when necessary.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and operator-level preventative maintenance.
- Label, organize, and stage completed parts for the next production operation.
- Maintain proper organization of parts to ensure components remain associated with the correct project and production sequence.
- Work closely with engineering, programming, assembly, and other production personnel to resolve questions or production issues.
- Minimize material waste while maintaining production and quality requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow company safety procedures and equipment operating requirements.
- Assist with other machining and production operations when needed.
