Position Summary
NATECH is seeking an early-career Aeronautical Information / GIS Analyst to support the Federal Aviation Administration under the NISC IV program in Anchorage, Alaska. The analyst will compile, validate, analyze, and present geographic and spatial information used in technical products, orts, and decision support. This is a hands-on role for a candidate who can apply foundational geospatial concepts, follow established procedures, and produce accurate work under the supervision of experienced technical staff.
Key Responsibilities
Compile geographic data from censuses, field observations, satellite imagery, aerial photography,existing maps, and other approved sources.
Review, organize, and maintain spatial and attribute data for completeness, consistency, and traceability.
Perform basic spatial analysis and geographic-statistical analysis using established methods and procedures.
Develop maps, graphics, data summaries, and supporting content for technical documents and reports.
Research and resolve routine data or mapping issues; elevate exceptions and higher-complexity questions to senior staff.
Document sources, assumptions, processing steps, and quality-control results in accordance with project standards.
Coordinate with engineers, analysts, planners, and project personnel to explain facts, analyses, processes, and work status.
Meet assigned schedules and quality expectations while handling controlled or sensitive projectinformation appropriately.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in geographic information systems, geography, geospatial science, engineering, environmental science, aviation, or a closely related technical field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
Zero to two years of relevant professional, internship, academic-project, or military experience involving GIS, mapping, spatial data, or technical analysis.
Basic knowledge of geospatial principles, coordinate systems, spatial-data structures, cartographic practices, and data-quality concepts.
Ability to apply established technical procedures, solve routine problems, and produce accurate, well-documented work with supervision.
Clear written and verbal communication skills and proficiency preparing technical documents, reports, and data summaries.
Ability to work full-time on-site in Anchorage, Alaska and satisfy applicable customer and contract employment requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro/ArcGIS Online or comparable GIS software.
Familiarity with geodatabases, data editing, metadata, quality assurance/quality control, and common geospatial file formats.
Exposure to aviation, aeronautical information, airport infrastructure, environmental management, surveying, or federal programs.
Experience working with aerial imagery, satellite imagery, field-collected data, or map production.
Pay: $68,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
