About Lo Media
Lo Media is a New York–based creative marketing agency specializing in video production, social media strategy, paid advertising, branding, and web development. We partner with growing brands to build a strong digital presence through strategic content and performance-driven marketing.
We move fast, care about craft, and our clients count on us to make them look great on camera and on screen.
Role Overview
We're building a roster of freelance content creators and editors we can call on as client work comes in. You'd shoot and edit short-form video and photography for a range of brands — capturing on location, then turning raw footage into polished, platform-native content that performs.
Our social coordinator provides the shot lists, briefs, and creative direction — your job is to execute them at a high level. This is project-based to start, with potential to grow into steady part-time work as our needs expand. Ideal for someone equally strong behind the camera and in the edit, who can take clear direction, manage their own time, and deliver a fast, clean turnaround.
What You'll Do
- Shoot high-quality video and photography on location, following the shot lists and direction provided by our social coordinator
- Edit short-form video for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts — pacing, captions, sound, transitions, and on-brand graphics
- Edit and retouch photography for social and web use
- Capture b-roll and behind-the-scenes content as directed
- Turn briefs and shot lists into finished, ready-to-publish content
- Adapt each asset to platform format, aspect ratio, and best practices
- Deliver final files on schedule and to spec
- Incorporate feedback and revisions from the Lo Media team
What We're Looking For
- A strong portfolio or reel is required — show us your best video and photography work (applications without one won't be reviewed)
- Highly proficient with video editing software (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar)
- Skilled in photo editing and retouching (Lightroom, Photoshop, or similar)
- Confident operating camera, lighting, and audio gear
- Strong technical eye for composition, lighting, and pacing — able to deliver a shot list with polish
- Takes direction well and executes a brief faithfully
- Reliable and self-managing — meets deadlines without hand-holding
- Able to travel to shoots across the NY metro area
- Available on a flexible, as-needed basis
Bonus / Nice to Have
- Motion graphics or animation (After Effects)
- Color grading experience
- Drone experience (FAA Part 107 certification a plus)
- Comfortable directing on-camera talent or appearing on camera
- Experience creating content in hospitality, restaurant, healthcare, or legal
