Looking for a Certified/Qualified Master Rigger
DETAILED DUTIES:
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee complex lifting and rigging operations
- Inspect rigging gear, slings, chains, shackles, and lifting equipment
- Calculate load weights, center of gravity, sling angles, and lift capacities
- Direct crane operators and rigging crews during lifts
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and company safety standards
- Conduct pre-lift meetings and hazard assessments
- Read and interpret blueprints, lift plans, and engineering drawings
- Train and supervise riggers and signal persons
- Maintain rigging equipment records and inspection logs
- Stop operations when unsafe conditions exist
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of rigging techniques and crane operations
- Ability to perform load calculations and rigging math
- Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations
- Experience with hoists, cranes, slings, spreader bars, and lifting devices
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding environments
- High school diploma or GED (typical minimum requirement)
Common Certifications
- NCCER Rigger Certification Rigger1-Rigger 2
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Signal Person Certification
- Crane/Rigging Safety Training
- Some jurisdictions require a licensed Master Rigger credential
Typical Experience Requirements
- 5+ years of rigging experience
- Advanced knowledge of heavy lift operations
- Previous supervisory or lead rigger experience preferred
