Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and calculus buildup
- Assess patient oral health by conducting thorough examinations and recording findings accurately in EMR.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong dental health
- Take vital signs and assist with dental imaging procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort during treatments
- Support chairside assisting during general dentistry procedures by preparing instruments, maintaining aseptic technique, and managing dental supplies
- Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with the dental team to develop personalized treatment plans for patients.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Iowa.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
- Ability to perform patient assessments, take medical histories, and monitor vital signs accurately
- Ability to administer local anesthetic as it pertains to dental hygiene procedures, along with making intraoral and extraoral radiographic images.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Knowledge of dental coding, documentation review, and understanding of HIPAA compliance is a plus

Pay: $35.00 - $44.00 per hour
