Job Summary
Under the direction of the Lead Case Manager, the Programs Assistant organizes and manages work assigned and is responsible for accurate office management during evening hours 4:00 PM-12:00 AM Thursday- Monday. The role assists the programming team with resident support during evening hours by providing case management follow up and support, facilities support, and volunteer support as needed. The Program Assistant serves as an on-site staff member for evening resident needs while being a partner in all Chattanooga Room in the Inn programming needs to ensure effective support is available during set evening hours.
Key Functions:
- Serve as a programming liaison for in-house residents during evening hours, providing support in meeting identified goals and assisting residents, as appropriate and assigned, in completing case management tasks and administrative duties.
- Assistance in resident correspondence and collecting resident paperwork.
- Fulfill resident requests for supplies and hygiene products.
- Facilitate new client move-ins, as needed.
- Train clients on building safety protocols and processes.
- Provide program support by initiating follow up requests from case management during evening hours.
- Data Entry- May be required to complete data entry to support the case management team and assist with records/file management as requested.
- Maintain inventory and keep supply shed/storage areas organized while being available for immediate supply needs. Timely sorting and storing of donated items in designated areas.
- Assist in maintaining the facility as requested, completing required safety drills, complete resident room checks, and preparing rooms for new residents.
- Effectively maintain professional boundaries with residents and the CRITI community. Provide support within defined parameters and be an encouraging support to residents.
- Demonstrate effective time management with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet expectations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of any and all information related to clients at all times.
- Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Must demonstrate clear, professional communication skills when interacting with staff, residents, and community partners.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education and Experience -High school graduate or GED/HiSET equivalent. Associate Degree or Certificate program preferred. Experience in the human services field is preferred. A combination of education and experience may be accepted.
- Experience in administrative office procedures, use of computers (hardware & software), report writing and organizational skills.
- Must have the ability to relate to the public and clients served, good communication skills, and work harmoniously with other staff and volunteers.
- Must be able to interact with program participants, and potential participants, with a Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) approach.
- Evaluate own performance, recognize and control biases, to organize own time and effort to meet requirements of the job.
- Capacity to understand the obligations, functions, programs and services of the agency.

- This position is based at Chattanooga Room in the Inn’s main facility. This evening position Thursday- Monday will work between the hours of 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM each evening.
- This position is based at the shelter location and requires a pre-employment background check, physical, and TB screening.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, carry, or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to walk, sit, and stand for long periods of time on occasion
- Must be able to bend, reach, push, pull, carry, and lift daily.
- Must be able to climb stairs multiple times per day
- Must be able to work around animals and children of all ages

Pay: $18.00 - $20.40 per hour
