Job Summary
We are seeking an upbeat, friendly and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control protocols. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to ensure optimal oral health outcomes for patients across all age groups, including pediatric dentistry. Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth
- Take and record vital signs and medical histories of patients
- Conduct patient assessments to identify oral health issues
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans
- Digital imaging such as X-rays in accordance with safety protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Follow infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Assist with medical coding for billing purposes when necessary
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients
- Uphold all dental terminology standards and adhere to best practices in general dentistry
Experience
- Prior experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a dental clinic or dental office setting is preferred but open to new graduates.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes is beneficial
- Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dental care is essential
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements
