Job Summary
The Production Manager leads two or more of Gen V Labs' core production sub departments and is accountable for the people, processes, and output that keep each running safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations. We're looking for a highly motivated, organized leader who puts safety, quality, and efficiency first in every decision.
This role builds and leads high-performing teams across two or more sub departments and drives continuous improvement initiatives to optimize department performance. The Production Manager partners closely with cross-functional teams to support new product development and launches as our product offerings expand.

Safety, Quality & Compliance
● Champion employee safety, consumer safety, and product quality as top priorities in every department decision and daily operation.
● Comply with all required/relevant regulatory and compliance standards (state cannabis regulations, OSHA, GMP, etc.).
● Monitor and audit accurate, timely completion of production compliance documentation across each area.
● Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas with efficient storage of materials.
Team Leadership & Hiring
● Build, lead, and develop each department's production teams.
● Own the full hiring process for direct reports —interview, select, and onboard new employees.
● Assign daily tasks and production priorities across two or more sub departments, keeping teams motivated, focused, and accountable.
● Evaluate employee performance, conduct reviews, and coach team members to support their growth.
● Review payroll weekly for direct reports and enforce the attendance policy.
● Manage and resolve team conflict; foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative culture.
Production Execution & Continuous Improvement
● Execute production schedules for each department on time and to specification.
● Lead using Lean/Six Sigma principles to drive continuous improvement, reduce waste, and standardize work across two or more sub departments.
● Create batching sheets for blending; create and review Acumatica POs for accuracy.
● Verify all production paperwork for accuracy and timely recording.
● Track daily/weekly output and review results with the team; identify root causes of downtime and lead corrective action.
● Develop, maintain, and distribute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for two or more sub departments.
Technical & Cross-Functional Support
● Serve as the technical expert for the production equipment and processes.
● Troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate to maintenance as needed; fill in on the line when necessary to keep production moving.
● Monitor packaging and raw material inventory, notifying the Inventory Manager when supplies run low.
● Support all movement of materials and finished goods to and from production; assist the Inventory Manager with cycle counts as needed.
● Support new product launch, development, and evaluation in partnership with cross-functional teams.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
● 3+ years in a supervisory role with direct reports
● 2+ years working in manufacturing (food/beverage preferred)
● 1+ years production planning, inventory management, or similar
● Experience with process improvement projects and Lean/Six-Sigma principals
● Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards (OSHA, GMP, HACCP, ISO, etc.)
● Highly organized, with strong written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to manage competing priorities
● Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop cross-functional production teams
● Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, and an ERP system
● Willing to work standard business hours with occasional evenings/weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
● 4+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, ideally spanning multiple production lines or sub departments
● Strong technical aptitude with hands-on equipment troubleshooting experience
● Working knowledge of GMP, SQF, GFSI, or other food/manufacturing quality systems
● Proficiency with an ERP system such as Acumatica, SAP, or NetSuite
● Experience with budget management, capital projects, or P&L responsibility
Physical Exertion:
Moderate Work — Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Work may include loading and unloading cases of product, setting up product displays, and lifting, lowering, and moving product and/or materials.
Environmental Conditions:
Indoor Work — Indoor environments may include exposure to temperature variations, such as unheated or non-air-conditioned areas.
Travel:
No Regular Travel — This position does not require regular travel.
Pay: $63,000.00 - $74,000.00 per year
