Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen tools
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items meet health standards
- Assist with basic food handling and preparation tasks as needed, supporting kitchen staff in maintaining cleanliness during busy service times
- Perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of large pots, trays, and bulk supplies safely and efficiently
- Maintain high standards of cleaning and sanitation throughout the kitchen area, including counters, floors, and storage spaces
- Support food safety management protocols by adhering to proper hygiene practices and documenting cleaning schedules
- Assist with bussing tables and clearing dishes during catering or banquet events to ensure smooth service flow
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred, especially in fast-paced environments such as restaurants, hotels or catering services
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and proper dishwashing techniques
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with food handling practices are advantageous
- Experience with food safety management systems is a plus
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and hygiene standards
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting culinary operations
- Spanish is a plus
