Monitor daily and monthly attendance data using EPSD’s student information system (e.g., Synergy) to identify students at risk for chronic absenteeism or truancy.
Communicate with students and families through phone calls, letters, in-person meetings, and home visits to discuss attendance concerns and encourage school engagement.
Collaborate with school counselors, administrators, and social workers to develop and implement individualized attendance intervention plans.
Maintain accurate, confidential records of student attendance interventions and follow-ups in compliance with FERPA and district guidelines.
Partner with local agencies, including Rio Arriba County programs, youth services, tribal entities, and other support organizations to connect families with needed resources (transportation, housing, health care, mental health, etc.).
Educate families on New Mexico’s Attendance for Success Act and the importance of regular school attendance for student success.
Participate in Student Assistance Team (SAT) meetings, truancy hearings, and other related district or community-based meetings.
Support and promote districtwide attendance initiatives, incentive programs, and awareness campaigns.
Provide regular reports and updates on attendance trends and intervention outcomes to district leadership.
