Medical Assistant/Transcriptionist

Looking for an enthusiastic individual to join a busy, growing Oncology practice! For this position, preferably one must have a strict attention to detail, and be able to work under pressure in a quick-paced environment, including multi-tasking efficiently with excellent listening skills. It is important that the individual have 2 years Medical Assistant experience, and be able to conduct themselves in a professional manner around both patients and staff. This position offers invaluable experience in a busy private practice setting to enhance skills in medical documentation and patient care.
Qualifications must include:
- Ability to navigate and utilize computer and associated hardware (internet browsers, Microsoft Office) with expertise.
- Must be proficient in typing (60 plus WPM) with excellent spelling, punctuation, grammar and oral communication.
- Gather patient vitals and history, enter into Electronic Medical Record system accurately.
- Ability to prep medical charts prior to patients arrival.
- Assist physician with dictation.
- Work with EMR with complete and concise fashion.
- Presents organizational ability, good judgement, initiative, attention to detail and be self-motivated.
- JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enter information in the EHR provided by the provider
- Locate information for review within the EHR (i.e. previous notes, reports, test results, and laboratory results)
- Understand and commit to appropriate protection of confidential patient information (PHI, HIPAA)
QUALIFICATIONS. Please only reply to having at least 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant and are experienced.
- Medical transcription experience preferred
- Proficient knowledge in medical terminology, basic anatomy, medical tests, systems review, interventions/treatments, and common medications knowledge is helpful
- Medical insurance/eligibility experience preferred
- Understanding of clinical documentation; ability to document clinical assessment into an EHR
- Exposure to at least one EHR preferred
- Proficient in English
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Typing proficiency
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to problem solve under pressure
- Ability to communicate and interact professionally with others

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
