Assistant Operations Manager – Field Operations

Diversified Waterscapes, Inc. (DWI) is an established lake and pond management company serving properties throughout Southern California. We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Operations Manager to support our Operations Manager in overseeing field personnel, equipment, service quality, safety, scheduling, and daily operations.
This is not a desk-only management position. The right candidate will regularly work alongside field crews, inspect job sites, troubleshoot equipment, operate boats, and step in wherever needed to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Operations Manager with daily field operations and crew scheduling
- Supervise, train, and hold field employees accountable for performance
- Conduct job-site inspections and ensure work meets company standards
- Monitor productivity, workmanship, attendance, and safety compliance
- Coordinate crews, vehicles, boats, equipment, materials, and treatment products
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and perform basic repairs on pumps, boats, sprayers, and other equipment
- Drive company trucks while safely towing and maneuvering boats and trailers
- Confirm that crews follow treatment instructions and complete accurate service reports
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding service needs and site conditions
- Help resolve field problems before they affect schedules or customer satisfaction
- Enforce OSHA requirements and company safety procedures
- Assist with inventory control, purchasing, and equipment maintenance
- Support the manufacturing and quality control of DWI’s proprietary aquatic product line
- Perform fieldwork when necessary to meet operational demands
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience supervising field employees
- Strong mechanical aptitude, particularly with pumps and equipment
- Experience operating boats and towing trailers
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Able to swim and work safely around water
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Able to manage multiple crews, priorities, and changing field conditions
- Comfortable holding employees accountable and addressing performance issues
- Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and willing to take ownership
- Able to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Stable employment history demonstrating reliability and long-term commitment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in lake and pond management, landscaping, irrigation, construction, environmental services, or field maintenance
- Knowledge of pumps, plumbing, electrical systems, irrigation, or water-treatment equipment
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and job-site safety requirements
- Experience with inventory, purchasing, quality control, or product manufacturing
- Contract management, estimating, or customer-service experience
- California Qualified Applicator Certificate or License
