Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Tugger Machine Operator to join our warehouse operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating tugger machines that transport materials and goods within the warehouse environment. Your expertise will ensure efficient movement of inventory, support shipping and receiving activities, and maintain safety standards across all operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy equipment operation, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate tugger machines to move pallets, containers, and materials efficiently within the warehouse.
- Load and unload goods using appropriate heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks.
- Assist with order picking using RF scanners and other warehouse management systems to ensure accurate fulfillment.
- Support shipping and receiving processes by properly handling materials and verifying shipments.
- Conduct routine inspections of tugger machinery to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Follow OSHA guidelines and safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate material flow and optimize operational efficiency.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks and materials handling activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements within warehouse management systems.
- Support construction or warehouse expansion projects by operating heavy equipment safely.
Skills
- Proven experience in Tugger machine operation, warehouse distribution, order picking, and materials handling.
- Familiarity with crane operation, forklift driving, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Experience with RF scanners, warehouse management systems, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods.
- Previous warehouse supervisor or leadership experience is a plus.
- Construction or industrial background is advantageous for understanding heavy equipment operation.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
