What You’ll Do
- Follow or implement classroom lesson plans.
- Create a positive, structured learning environment.
- Monitor student attendance and classroom behavior.
- Support students and maintain a safe classroom.
- Leave helpful notes for the returning teacher.
- Build positive relationships with students, school staff, and administrators.
What You Need to Qualify
- At least 60 college credit hours from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
- No teaching certificate required.
- Reliable, professional, and comfortable working with K–12 students.
- Completion of required background checks, including LiveScan fingerprinting.

Physical Requirements
Substitute teachers must be able to perform the physical demands of the position, including but not limited to standing for extended periods, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, and occasionally lifting classroom materials. The school environment may include elevated noise levels.
