Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems that ensure products and manufacturing processes meet established quality standards and customer requirements. This position works closely with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service, Suppliers, and Customers to identify quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintain and assist in the use and development of the Quality Management System to the requirements of ISO 9001:2015
· Lead corrective action process to investigate root cause and implement corrective actions into the QMS, manufacturing processes, and supplier performance
· Perform internal audits to determine product and process conformance
· Create and maintain quality records including corrective actions, documented audits, quality alerts, and non-conforming material reports
· Participate in MRB and coordinate the disposition of non-conforming material
· Monitor and improve manufacturing processes to ensure product quality and process consistency
· Advise Operations in quality-related matters and recommend improvements
· Maintain working knowledge of quality assurance codes and standards
· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
· 1 - 3+ years of professional experience in a field related to quality assurance or manufacturing engineering
· Experience auditing a Quality Management System to the requirements of an international standard- ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100
· Experience conducting root-cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions
· Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
· Proficiency with hand tools for precision measurement of geometric dimensions
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in studies related to quality assurance, engineering, or manufacturing engineering
· Certification by ASQ- CQE, CQA, CQIA, CQPA, CSQP
· Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
· Understanding of GD&T and AWS welding symbols
· Experience with tools for precision measurement of weld quality, material testing, or paint quality
· Experience with 3D CAD view software
· Experience with CMM measurement equipment and software

Additional Requirements
· Ability to work outside and inside both an office and a manufacturing environment- work involves extended periods of sitting, typing and writing and frequent periods of standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
· Ability to wear PPE including but not limited to: safety glasses, steel toe footwear, hearing protection, AWS shaded welding glasses, chemical resistant suit
· Ability to travel locally, nationally, and internationally- travel may be required up to 20% of time (10 weeks per year)
