BILINGUAL Human Resources & Payroll Generalist
You are a
hands-on, proactive Human Resources professional who thrives in a fast-paced,
people-focused environment. You will oversee the day-to-day HR function,
including employee relations, compliance, payroll, benefits administration,
onboarding, personnel records, and workplace safety. This is an excellent
opportunity for an experienced HR Generalist who enjoys wearing multiple hats,
improving processes, and helping build a positive and high-performing workplace
culture.
Location: Sebastopol, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | 100% On-Site
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $38–$45/hour
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop,
implement, and continuously improve HR policies, procedures, and
practices.
- Maintain
and update the employee handbook, HR files, and personnel records while
ensuring compliance and confidentiality.
- Lead
the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, employee
status changes, and exit interviews.
- Support
recruiting efforts by screening candidates and participating in the
interview process.
- Monitor
and communicate federal, state, and local employment law requirements and
help ensure company compliance.
- Address
employee relations concerns, resolve workplace issues, and help minimize
HR-related risk.
- Process
weekly and bi-weekly payroll, including PTO, 401(k) contributions,
wage garnishments, and HSA/FSA deductions.
- Maintain
accurate compensation, salary, and wage records and coordinate
participation in industry salary surveys.
- Manage
benefits administration, including renewals, eligibility, enrollment,
deductions, contributions, and regular audits.
- Coordinate
year-end payroll and 401(k) reporting, census submissions, and audits.
- Lead
the company safety committee and support OSHA compliance across
departments.
- Manage
workers’ compensation claims, filings, and workplace injury
investigations.
- Foster
a positive, professional, and collaborative workplace culture aligned with
the company’s values and goals.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s
degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; equivalent
experience or HR certification will also be considered.
- Fluency
in Spanish is required.
- Hands-on
payroll processing experience, including experience managing payroll for a
workforce of up to approximately 100 employees.
- Experience
in the wine industry is highly preferred.
- Strong
knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, payroll, benefits,
compensation, employee relations, and risk management.
- Proficiency
with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS/payroll systems; IBS experience is a
plus.
- Exceptional
organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple
priorities.
- Strong
written and verbal communication skills with a professional,
compassionate, and approachable communication style.
