Duties
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management protocols
- Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans, ensuring accurate medical imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Patient management software, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Perform vital signs assessments and document medical documentation accurately in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies
- Support patient care by providing clear explanations of procedures, managing patient comfort, and assisting with pediatric dentistry needs
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure in the applicable region
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment, including familiarity with dental equipment and instruments
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with patient management software is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dentistry and oral surgery
- Strong understanding of infection control practices, including dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection prevention standards
- Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely following radiation safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists
- Demonstrated commitment to clinical confidentiality policies and patient privacy regulations
