The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct care and support to individuals receiving mental health and/or substance use treatment services. This role assists clinical staff in maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment while supporting people with daily activities, monitoring behaviors, and implementing treatment plans.
Summary:
Prepare home cooked meals for the people we support.
Responsibilities:
· Cook well balanced meals per the menu
· Maintain kitchen as required in the State rules of the CSSP
· Ensure each person receives their meal as prescribed by their physician
· The following are the State regulations for CSSP kitchens
Food Storage
- Refrigerators must maintain safe temperatures:
- 41°F or below for cold foods
- 0°F or below for frozen foods
- Foods must be labeled and dated
- Raw foods separated from ready-to-eat foods
- Dry storage kept clean, sealed, and pest-free
- Chemicals stored away from food items
Kitchen Cleanliness & Sanitation
- Food-contact surfaces sanitized regularly
- Sinks cleaned and operational
- Dishwashing procedures followed
- Floors, walls, and ceilings maintained clean
- Garbage containers covered and emptied routinely
- Pest prevention measures documented
Employee Hygiene Standards
Cooks and kitchen staff must:
- Wash hands properly and frequently
- Wear clean clothing
- Use gloves when required
- Avoid working while ill
- Prevent cross-contamination during food prep
Meal Service Compliance
CSSP providers serving meals must ensure:
· Meals meet USDA nutrition guidelines
· Portion sizes are appropriate
· Special diets are followed when ordered
· Menus are maintained/documented
· Beneficiaries receive safe and nutritious meals
Qualifications:
· Food service experience preferred
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
