Overview:
The Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) Instructor delivers classroom and clinical instruction for students enrolled in the New Jersey Certified Homemaker-Home Health Aide training program. The instructor will provide high-quality, student-centered instruction, prepare students for successful entry into the healthcare workforce, and ensure compliance with all applicable New Jersey Department of Health regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction in accordance with the approved Certified Home Health Aide curriculum and New Jersey regulations.

Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and skills-based learning activities.

Evaluate student performance through written, practical, and competency-based assessments.

Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and program documentation.

Foster a supportive learning environment that promotes student success and professional development.

Communicate regularly with CPS staff regarding course progress and student performance.

Maintain current knowledge of home health aide training standards and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey.

Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse immediately preceding application.

Minimum one (1) year of community health, public health, or home care experience.

Minimum six (6) months of experience supervising homemaker-home health aides.

Previous teaching, training, or workforce development experience preferred.

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to effectively teach and communicate with adult learners from diverse backgrounds.

- Ability to translate industry knowledge into practical training and applied learning activities.

Familiarity with instructional technologies, learning management systems, and digital learning tools where applicable.

Fluency in Spanish and/or Haitian Creole preferred.

Experience teaching or supporting English language learners and diverse workforce development populations preferred.
