We are seeking a detail-oriented and clinically skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in a role supporting clinical operations, patient communication, and IV therapy coverage. This position is based in our clinical support center and is critical to ensuring our providers and patients receive seamless, high-quality care.
Position Overview
Clinical Triage & Patient Communication
- Serve as a primary clinical resource for patient questions received via the patient portal, phone calls, and provider-initiated outreach.
- Perform triage assessments to determine urgency and route patient concerns appropriately.
- Contact patients on behalf of providers as directed, relaying clinical instructions and follow-up information.
- Provide patient education after appointments when questions arise, reinforcing provider recommendations and care plans.
Chart Preparation & Lab Management
- Perform thorough chart preparation for all providers prior to patient appointments, including review of historical records and organization of relevant clinical information.
- Review incoming laboratory results and contact patients with results per provider direction and clinic protocols.
- Organize and prepare lab results within the EHR to ensure providers have a clear, complete picture at the point of care.
- Process medication refills in accordance with provider-created SOPs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with clinic protocols.
IV Therapy (Backup Coverage)
- Learn and become proficient in clinic IV therapy protocols to provide coverage when the primary IV RN is unavailable.
- Administer IV infusions and injections in accordance with provider orders and clinic safety standards.
- Maintain a safe, organized IV therapy environment and monitor patients during treatments.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Current RN license for the State of Wisconsin in good standing
- Experience in a clinical office, integrative health, or functional medicine setting preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — this role requires frequent patient and provider interaction
- Comfort working within electronic health record systems; experience with athenahealth a plus
- IV therapy experience preferred
- Ability to work independently with sound clinical judgment and minimal supervision
