Position Purpose
Responsible for the successful execution of planned and unplanned maintenance activities for all equipment and / or facilities as instructed.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Provides feedback to Management regarding equipment in need of downtime for routine preventive / planned maintenance.
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as designed / needed to accomplish job results.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. Prepares shift maintenance reports detailing activities accomplish throughout the shift.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications
Education / Certification: High school graduate or equivalent.
Required Knowledge: Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge.
Knowledge of 480 3ph, AC/DC motors and drives, PLC’s hydraulic and pneumatic systems, power transmissions.
Ability to read schematics, blue prints, and other related drawings.
Must understand the metric system of measurement as well as standard.
Knowledge of all Company machines and / or similar equipment.
Must maintain Company certifications to operate forklifts and cranes.
Experience Required: Two or more years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
Skills / Abilities: Quality orientation and attentive to detail.
Good manual dexterity and finger dexterity.
Cooperative and willing to assist others.
Ability to closely follow written and verbal instructions.
Visualization to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.
Control precision- having the ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.

REPETITIVE MOTIONS: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
FINE, ACUTE VISUAL ABILITIES: Fine visual acuity with the ability to inspect closely or to assemble small parts; color vision; or depth perception and/or field of vision.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Medium to heavy work; exerting up to 200 lbs. occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. frequently, and 20 lbs. constantly.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Must work under hazardous conditions including high places, chemical exposures, electrical current, moving machinery, exposure to blood, etc.
Worker subject to fumes, odors, dusts, gases, and/or poor ventilation that affect the skin or respiratory system.
Mental Activities and Requirements of this Position
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and to deal with problems involving variables.
MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Ability to perform very basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing two digit numbers; the four basic arithmetic operations with money; and operations with units such as inch, foot, yard; ounce, and pound and their metric counterparts.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: High school reading skills.
Able to read at a moderate rate.
Ability to communicate in simple sentences.
Compensation
This position is probationary for the first 180 days and the $26.17 per hour training rate applies. After successfully completing the probationary period the pay rate will be $33.01 per hour as per the Union Contract. We offer full medical benefits after first 30 days and 401(k) is available after approximately 6 months.
