This rewarding contract opportunity spans the entire academic year, with a start date in mid-August and concluding in late May. You’ll play a key role across various school sites, providing essential instruction and guidance to visually impaired students throughout the district.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Kentucky Special Education (SPED) license with a Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement.
- Experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in educational settings is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, fostering collaboration with students, staff, and families.
- Commitment to onsite instruction and ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to visually impaired students using appropriate accommodations and specialized materials.
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers and support teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies to maximize learning outcomes.
- Offer training and support to staff regarding adaptive technology and accessible curriculum resources.
- Serve as an advocate for students, promoting accessibility and inclusion throughout school environments.
