Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a growing Christian faith is a must.
- Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required.
- Agreement with the mission, philosophy, and Statement of Faith of Gateway Christian School.
- A desire to disciple students while pursuing academic excellence.
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, parents, and pastoral leadership.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons that challenge and encourage students.
- Integrate biblical truth and a biblical worldview into every subject taught.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered classroom environment where students are encouraged to grow in character and knowledge.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and fellow staff members.
- Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with parents regarding academic and behavioral growth.
- Attend parent-teacher conferences, faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Participate in curriculum development and contribute to the continuous improvement of the school's educational programs.
- Maintain appropriate classroom management while ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
- Care for school property and resources entrusted to your classroom.
- Demonstrate professionalism through punctuality, preparedness, and a commitment to continuous growth as an educator.
- Be familiar with the policies in both the student and teacher handbooks.
- Be continually active in furthering professional competence.
- Submit teaching performance to constant self-evaluation and ongoing administrative evaluation.
