MIG Welder

Job Type: Part-Time for first 30 days → Full-Time (40 hours/week) upon successful introductory period

Position Summary
ErgoQuest is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented MIG Welder to join our production team. This position is responsible for welding standard mild steel components used in the manufacture of our ergonomic workstations and seating systems. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing clean, accurate welds and works well in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on standard mild steel parts and assemblies.
- Read and interpret basic fabrication drawings and work instructions.
- Set up and operate MIG welding equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure welded assemblies meet quality and dimensional standards.
- Inspect finished welds for strength, appearance, and accuracy.
- Grind, clean, and prepare welded parts as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Report equipment issues or quality concerns to the production supervisor.
- Work closely with the fabrication and finishing teams to meet production schedules.
- Follow all company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience with MIG welding mild steel.
- Ability to produce consistent, high-quality welds.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable attendance and a positive work ethic.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Experience using grinders, saws, drill presses, or other metalworking equipment.
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and blueprints.
Schedule
This position will begin part-time for the first 30 days as an introductory period.
During this time, you will work with our production team and become familiar with our products, welding processes, and quality standards.
After the first 30 days, if we are pleased with your work, reliability, attendance, and overall fit with the team, the position will transition to full-time employment at 40 hours per week Monday through Friday. Overtime may be available based on production needs.
Our goal is to find someone interested in a long-term, full-time position who can grow with ErgoQuest.

- Lead Welder/Fabricator: Experienced team members who demonstrate leadership, fabrication expertise, blueprint interpretation, and the ability to mentor others may advance to higher-paying roles (at least $25 an hour).
