We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fiber Optic Splicer to join our growing telecommunications construction team. This position involves splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining fiber optic networks in both aerial and underground environments. Candidates should be dependable, safety-focused, and willing to travel as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform fiber optic splicing in aerial, underground, and indoor environments
- Read and interpret fiber matrices, splice prints, and network diagrams
- Test and troubleshoot fiber using OTDRs, power meters, and related equipment
- Prepare and maintain accurate splice documentation and reports
- Ensure all work is completed safely and meets company and customer standards
- Assist crews with fiber construction activities as needed
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment
Qualifications
- Previous fiber optic splicing experience preferred
- Ability to operate fusion splicing and testing equipment
- Knowledge of telecommunications construction practices
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Willingness to travel for projects
- Valid driver’s license required; Chauffeur’s License required
- CDL A is a plus
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
