Job Summary
We are seeking dependable, hardworking Digging Crew Members to join our team. This position is responsible for excavating trenches for gas and electrical lines, assisting with site preparation, and supporting generator installations at residential properties. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in quality workmanship, and follows safety procedures at all times.
Responsibilities
- Hand dig and/or operate trenching equipment for residential generator installations.
- Excavate trenches for gas and electrical conduit according to project specifications and local code requirements.
- Assist with site preparation, cleanup, and restoration of landscaping after installation.
- Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, and materials.
- Work closely with electricians, plumbers, and installation crews to complete projects efficiently.
- Identify and avoid underground utilities while following safe digging practices.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners when needed.
- Follow all company safety policies.
Qualifications
- Previous construction, excavation, landscaping, or utility experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including digging, lifting up to 75 pounds, kneeling, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Experience operating trenchers, mini excavators, or skid steers is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and dig for extended periods.
- Work outdoors in hot, cold, and wet conditions.
- Safely operate hand tools and power equipment.
