The candidate needs to understand insurance billing, documentation, coding and collection concepts pertaining to cardiology. The Medical Billing Specialist is needed in managing A/R, including calling on insurance claims, writing appeals and calling patients about outstanding balances. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Charge and payment posting
- Electronic claim submission
- Verify and ensure the accuracy, completeness, specificity and appropriateness of diagnosis codes based on cardiology services rendered.
- Following a claim through its entire life-cycle
- Produces quality work that meets the expectations of the Office Manager
- Ability to multi task and adapt to changing priorities in a work day
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally, according to HIPAA laws
- Review medical record information to identify all appropriate coding based on CMS categories
- Monitor Coding changes to ensure that most current information is available.
- Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving ability regarding barriers to receiving and validating accurate information.
- Performs all other duties as assigned in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Computer literate
- Microsoft Office Suite experience (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Experience in working with Eclinical EMR system preferred
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
