LMG Construction is seeking an experienced Field Superintendent to oversee all field operations for commercial construction projects. The Superintendent is responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget and in accordance with company quality standards and contract documents.
This position serves as the primary on-site representative for the company and works closely with Director, Project Manager, subcontractors, inspectors, design professionals and municipal agencies throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all daily on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout.
- Coordinate and direct subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors and field personnel to maintain project schedules and productivity
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with contract documents, specifications, building codes and company quality standards
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify, communicate and resolve field issues in coordination with the Project Manager
- Maintain detailed daily reports, progress photos, safety documentation and schedule updates using construction management software
- Conduct regular quality control inspections and verify completed work meets project requirements
- Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and communicate project milestones, schedule impacts, and site expectations
- Manage site logistics, material deliveries, equipment, storage areas, and overall jobsite organization
- Enforce OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite
- Assist with project scheduling, look-ahead planning and sequencing of work activities
- Oversee punch list completion, final inspections and project closeout activities
- Be available for occasional extended hours or weekend work when required to meet project schedules
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 10 years of construction experience, including at least 4 years as a Superintendent or field supervisory role
- Experience managing commercial construction projects from start to finish
- Strong background coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Experience working with permitting agencies, inspections, and local building codes
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (preferred)
- Valid driver's license (required)
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing and field operations
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, specifications and submittals
- Experience with construction scheduling and look-ahead planning
- Proficiency with construction management software
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety requirements and quality control procedures
Leadership Skills
- Proven ability to lead multiple subcontractors and maintain productive jobsite operations
- Excellent communication skills with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors and project teams
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism
Language Requirements
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and verbal)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods
- Ability to walk active construction sites daily
- Ability to climb ladders, navigate uneven terrain and lift up to 50 pounds when necessary
