Position Summary
The Field Service & Installation Manager oversees all field operations related to generator installations, maintenance, and repairs. This role ensures that jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards while managing technicians and installers in the field.
Key Responsibilities
Field Operations Management
● Manage and schedule installation crews and service technicians
● Oversee project timelines from site inspection through final commissioning
● Ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications and code requirements
● Drive profitability through product and service pricing while managing wages and costs
● Proficiency in business related tools such as but not limited to Service Titan, DSC, Flash report
Team Leadership
● Lead, train, and mentor service technicians and installation crews
● Conduct ride-alongs, field audits, and performance evaluations
● Ensure technicians are properly trained on equipment and safety protocols
● Conduct practical skills training sessions
● Manage and approve payroll for all field personnel
Quality Control
● Perform job site inspections to ensure quality workmanship
● Reduce callbacks and warranty issues through proactive quality management
● Maintain consistent installation and service standards
Service & Maintenance Oversight
● Oversee preventive maintenance programs and service agreements
● Ensure timely response to service calls and emergency repairs, including after-hours emergency calls
● Monitor first-time fix rates and technician productivity
● Supervise warranty processes between the local organization and the manufacturers
● Track service and installation KPIs and manage the employees to achieve benchmarks and goals
Inventory & Equipment Management
● Coordinate with the warehouse for parts, materials, and equipment availability
● Ensure trucks are properly stocked and maintained
● Manage tool and equipment accountability
Customer Interaction
● Serve as an escalation point for complex service or installation issues
● Ensure technicians provide professional, high-quality customer interactions
● Support customer education on generator use and maintenance
● Promotes 100% customer satisfaction within the service and installation departments
Safety & Compliance
● Enforce safety standards and compliance in the field
● Ensure all work complies with local electrical, gas, and permitting codes
● Enforce OSHA safety standards
Qualifications
● 5+ years of field service or installation management experience
● Strong background in electrical, mechanical, or generator systems
● Proven ability to manage and lead field teams
● Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
● Strong organizational and scheduling abilities
Preferred Experience
● Experience with residential standby generators (e.g., Generac, Kohler)
● Electrical contractor or technician background
● Knowledge of permitting and inspection processes

● Due to the nature of residential generator operations, not all duties can be individually listed; therefore, the Field Manager is expected to perform additional tasks as required to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation.
● Perform additional duties as assigned by management, including tasks necessary to support field operations, project completion, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
